Welcome
THE KATIE EXPERIMENT - Harnessing the power of podcasting, social media and web 2.0.
Let's not beat around the bush. Launching a new artist is an expensive business. So we're asking for help.
Katie Ellen is an uniquely talented 17 year old singer / songwriter from Liverpool UK with a style all of her own. Armed with only an acoustic guitar and a smokey mellow voice, Katie sings about what we all feel but are too afraid to tell.
It has been said that record companies won't touch an artist these days until they have at least 1000 'friends' on myspace. If the music industry thinks social media networks are THAT important, then lets see what happens when we ask for help to actively target these networks.
HOW YOU WILL BE ABLE TO GET INVOLVED
Join the list.
Helping out The Katie Experiment is as easy as adding Katie as a friend to your myspace or joining our mailing list. Send our details to everyone in your address book. All of Katie's friends get listed, with a link on her myspace and blog.
VIP Friends (those who offer facilities, opportunities or, dare I say it MONEY) get listings with an image of their choice on her website, myspace and blog.
HOW TO BE A VIP.
Podcasters / Radio Stations - Play Katie's music. Promote what we are doing
Music managers / promoters / Industry professionals - Help us by sending our details to every professional contact you have.
TV / Video people - We really want to make a music video. Help us out with filming and / or edit facilities.
DJ's / remixers - Ask us for the files for Katies songs. Remix them. We'll release the good ones and give you a cut of the revenue. Nothing is too obscure.
Website owners - Put Katie on your front page. Give her the exposure she needs to make it. Use our banners and ads or make your own.
Studio owners - Give us some studio time.
Newspapers / Magazines - Run features on what we are doing. Tell your readers to join us. Keep your readers up to date. We'll send you updates if you want.
Everyone else - Point us in the direction of an opportunity we can exploit.
Send us money. We're doing the conventional stuff too like live appearances and shows. Fuel costs money and we have to eat as well!
All of this is coming soon. We've just finished our firsr studio session and things are sopunding good. As soon as the tracks are finished we'll be posting them here and on Katie's myspace
